ABOUT AMU RCA

  1. The Residential Coaching Academy was established after merging it with the erstwhile Coaching & Guidance Centre through a notification of the Registrar, AMU  in 2010, in accordance with the sanction of a scheme of the University Grants Commission entitled “Establishment of Residential Coaching Academy for Minorities/SC/ST and Women”
  2. The Residential Coaching Academy conducts coaching programmes for students to enable them for entry into the Central and State Civil Services, Judicial Services and Banking Services etc. It maintains a Library which has the latest course material for the concerned competitive examinations. The Library has two reading halls for boys and one for girls. Students selected for the coaching programme through anAll India Test reside in the Sherwani Hall. Girl students are accommodated in RCA Girl’s Hostel.
  3. The admissions to coaching courses and Library Membership are given through a National Level Entrance Test. The Academy selects 100 students for the regular Civil Services, 60 for Judicial Services and 50 for ‘Super-50′ Program’ of Civil Services. About 100 students are given Library Membership based on entrance test. The main focus of the coaching programme is to prepare the students for the Civil Services and Judicial Services Examinations. The course module includes development of core competence, communication skills and personality development.

Only those candidates who have already completed their graduation and are eligible for applying to Civil Services , Can apply for RCA-AMU

ADMISSION PROCESS

Aspirants who wish to join the coaching programmes of the Centre are admitted on the basis of an Entrance Test and Interview wherever required, and as notified.
Depending on the nature of the programme, both objective and subjective tests will be administered.
Application forms may be downloaded from the website or collected in person from the office of the Centre for Coaching and Career Planning. A nominal fee in cash/by postal order/demand draft in favor of AMU, Aligarh, shall be payable at the time of the submission of application forms at the office of the Centre.
Coaching shall be offered free of charge.

  • To ensure a level playing field for the Women, SCs, STs and Minorities.
  • To enrich the capabilities so as to integrate them in the mainstream.
  • To enable them to utilize their boundless potential as the future leaders.

MEDIUM OF ENTRANCE EXAM

The Written test would comprise general studies (objective type) on UPSC’s model (in English/Hindi/Urdu) and Essay writing in English/Hindi/Urdu to test candidates’ knowledge of general awareness, logical thinking, reasoning, and comprehension. The total duration of the test would be of three hours.

100 Multiple-choice questions on General Studies & CSAT (200 marks) and 2 descriptive Essays (100 marks) followed by Interview (50 marks)
